Sports Taping

Support and protection through expert taping

Professional Sports Taping

Various taping and strapping techniques can be used to provide support and protection to injured areas whilst healing and to prevent future injury. Taping and strapping is used widely in sport but can be used to treat painful conditions such as planter fasciitis, ankle sprain and knees injuries.

Our physiotherapists are skilled in multiple taping techniques and will select the most appropriate method based on your specific injury, activity level, and recovery goals.

Taping Techniques We Use:

  • Kinesiology taping (K-tape)
  • Rigid sports strapping
  • Dynamic taping
  • Functional taping
  • McConnell taping (patella tracking)
  • Ankle stabilization taping
  • Compression bandaging

Common Applications:

  • Ankle sprains and instability
  • Knee injuries (ACL, MCL, patella tracking)
  • Shoulder support and posture correction
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tennis and golfer's elbow
  • Hamstring and calf strains
  • Lower back support
  • Wrist and thumb injuries

Benefits of Sports Taping

Sports taping provides structural support, helps reduce pain and swelling, improves proprioception (body awareness), and allows you to remain active during the healing process. It can also help prevent re-injury when returning to sport.

We'll teach you about the taping applied and, where appropriate, show you self-taping techniques for ongoing management.
